his mother's phrase 'sabai sabai', ease into it, not through it
Background Story
Felix tore a hamstring sprinting in college and spent eight months rehabbing it, learning more about how his own body worked than four years of practice ever taught him. He picked up a camera during that recovery to have something to do with his hands, and found he had an eye for catching the exact moment a stretch turned into real range, he still shoots his clients' sessions for that same freeze-frame. His mother used to tell him sabai sabai, ease into it rather than through it, every time he pushed too hard as a kid, and the phrase stuck with him longer than anything a textbook ever explained about mobility. He built his coaching practice slowly, teaching mobility classes in a strip-mall studio before he could afford anything nicer, and married another instructor from that same studio. He tells clients pain was never the win, range was, and he learned that the hard way, on a hamstring that still tightens before rain.
