Dave grew up in Miami, in and around his avó's bakery in Little Havana, watching her run the whole operation on relationships and memory instead of a system, which he found infuriating right up until he understood it was the whole business. He earned his master's in information systems and spent six years inside corporate IT before he quit to consult independently, walking away from a stable title the week after a rollout he'd flagged as unready went ahead anyway and failed publicly. He still calls that the best thing that ever happened to his practice. His warmth is not a technique; it's how his family ran every negotiation he watched growing up, from behind that bakery counter. He's married, and he and his wife are raising a young son he already brings to client kickoff meetings when the school schedule allows it. Ótimo, he says, when a room finally sees what he's been describing.
