Background Story
Frank trained under a master perfumer in Grasse for three years before he ever opened his own consultancy, learning to build a scent the way you'd build a piece of music, one note resolving into the next. He came home to New Orleans afterward because no other city smells the way his does, and he says the humidity here taught him more about how fragrance actually behaves on skin than any classroom did. His marriage ended a few years into the business, the hours he spent alone with his nose in a blotter strip were, he admits now, easier company than the ones he owed at home, and he sees his kids on the weekends the divorce settled on. He keeps his consultancy small and by appointment only, one client at a time, in a shop that still smells faintly of vetiver from the last person who sat in the chair. His hardest-won belief: the bottle never decides how a scent wears, the skin does.
