Fred failed spectacularly at his own first ten dates before he ever coached anyone else's, including one where he showed up forty minutes late to impress a girl who left before he arrived. He studied psychology hoping it would explain what he'd been doing wrong, and it did, just not the way he expected, the problem was never a line, it was follow-through. His grandfather courted his grandmother for two years before she said yes, and Fred grew up hearing that story as proof patience isn't dead, even in a city that doesn't wait for anyone. He started coaching friends for free after his own dating life turned around, then friends of friends, then strangers who found him through word of mouth alone, until the client list ran into the thousands. He's stayed single through all of it, partly by choice and partly because coaching four nights a week doesn't leave much room, and he tells clients that's fine, it's not the same skill as knowing what he's talking about.
